While shooting portraits, we have to keep in mind: 1. FRAMING2. LIGHT3. ISO4. ANGLE5. COMPFORTABILITY/ CANDID6. RULE OF THE THIRD7. BACKGROUND AND BACKGROUND COLOUR• Framing is the most important aspect in photography. We have to focus on what we want the other person to see rather than what he / she is actually seeing.• Light means what is the source of the light, and how it will affect the photography.Best possible shots for daylight is dawn or twilight for outdoor photography. For indoor photography, place the subject 3-4 inches near window to get a balanced light effect on the subject.ISO should be kept as low as possible to avoid grains. For daylight, ISO should be 100.For any confusions, keep the ISO at Auto unless you are absolutely sanguine about lighting and metering.Make the very most of natural light to enhance your subject and understand how subtle changes can dramatically improve your portraits.• All individuals have a distinct angle from where if they are clicked, pictures will be excellent. All the angles do not have that effect. We have to sit with the subject and study from which angle the subject looks most photogenic.• To shoot candid and natural photographs, talk to the subject before the shoot and make her/ him comfortable with you. This will ease out the camera consciousness of the model, and help in producing natural and candid shots.• Sometimes breaking of the Rule of third also produces good results. Rule of the third is an ideal for photography, but as the saying goes, “rules are made to be broke”, some photographs look good and more real even if they are not adhering to the Rule. While framing/ cropping in the subsequent level, we can develop on this aspect.• Selection of the colour of the background of the subject is most important. The subject will look brighter, or the effect will be better based on the colour of the back ground. For this, colour selection is also an important aspect. Photograph your subjects in their favourite environment to enhance your portraits.

Kabini - Nagarhole National Park is a part of Rajiv Gandhi National Park located very close to Mysore in Karnataka, South India. In 1999, this park was declared as the 37th Project Tiger reserve. The park covers approximately 643 Sq. km located to the north-west of Bandipur National Park. The Kabini reservoir separates Nagarhole from Bandipur national park. Nagar-hole, the name is derived as - naga, meaning snake and hole, referring to streams. The park was an exclusive hunting reserve of the kings of the Wodeyar dynasty, Mysore. Govt. declared this as wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and later its area was increased to 643.39 Sq. km. It was upgraded into a national park in 1988.DCP team will be visiting this amazing forest this season ! We have limited seats. Wildlife of Kabini is famous amongst the Wildlife photographers because of stunning photographic opportunities with amazing landscapes. That resting Leopard on a silent tree branch (or that crouching one !!!) is probably the dream shot of every Wildlife photographer. Leopards, Tigers and Elephants are common in the forest. At the same time, the avian life is fantastic with Osprey, Fish eagle, Falcon, lesser adjutant stork and many more. There are hardly few places better than Kabini, simply to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Kabini is hence, rated as one of the top class wildlife destinations in the country !!!Scheduled dates : 25th - 27th January 2018 (2 nights 3 days)ItineraryDay 1Kabini camp site is 60 km away from Mysore. After a warm welcome at the resort, you will be briefed about the camp followed by a round of introduction. Our naturalist will share a few quick tips on scopes of photography during the next 2 days. Enjoy your lunch at the resort and relax. Feel free to take a walk around the resort for bird watching within the camp premises. Your transport to and from Kabini is not included in the package, however, in case you need help, our representatives will receive you at the railway station or Bus Stand, wherever you reach and a cab will drive you to the resort, which is approximately 60 kms away from Mysore. There are two modes of wildlife safari possible at Kabini, but with a prior notice to the team leader. Kabini offers both Jeep as well as boat safaris. Jeep safari has good chances of sighting Leopard, Tiger, wild dogs (Dholes) etc, whereas the boat safari provides an amazing opportunity to photograph huge herds of elephants along with mind-blowing landscapes and raptors (Osprey, Falcon, Fish eagle etc). Our most awaited first safari will start at 3:30 pm in the evening and it will continue till 6:30 pm. Post safari, upon return to the resort, get together for a chat over a hot cup of coffee. Later enjoy the dinner and relax for the night.Day 2Wake-up with the morning call and enjoy the beauty of a fresh Kabini morning with a hot cup of coffee. Morning safari starts at 6:30 am. Participants can opt for either Jeep or boat ride upon prior notice to the group leader. Return from the jungle at 9:00 am and enjoy an excellent south - Indian break-fast (Continental choice available). Later, join the group for an interactive fun filled session on photography with DCP Wildlife photography expert. Post lunch, relax for a while and get ready for your cat luck in the evening safari, which starts at 6:30 pm. After you are back from the safari, our Photography expert will take you through a basic image processing workshop on the images clicked during the day. This allows enough scope of interaction with our experts to understand and critically analyze the images clicked during the safaris. Day 3This is the last safari of the trip. Board the jeep with fingers crossed! Post your return to the resort, hopefully with a few classic photographs, we all gather for a group photo and final round of interaction before checking out by 11:00 am. The expedition ends here and we move back to Mysore.StayWe will be staying in Kabini River Lodge. The lodge is located on the southern fringes of the Nagarahole National Park (Rajiv Gandhi National Park). It is considered as one of the Top 5 Wildlife Resorts in the World by the British Tatler’s Travel Guide. To maximize and complete your photographic learning, join our evening session of informal discussions on digital image processing. Our Expert will work on few of his own images or a few of yours (which you have clicked during the day) and demonstrate various techniques of image processing to give a final shape to your artwork. The following will be discussed: RAW files processingHistogram and exposure controlColour correction methodsCropping and image resizingSharpening, cloning, dodging and burningNoise reductionComposition
