On 10 October 2019 Nikon Inc. announced the fastest NIKKOR lens ever made the new NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens. The 58mm Noct is a one-of-a-kind lens that pays homage to the extraordinary optical legacy that the previous Noct-NIKKOR 58mm f/1.2 lens established while demonstrating the superiority and potential of the Nikon Z Mount. Created for the most discerning photographers, the new Noct lens is an exclusively manual focus prime lens with an incredible maximum aperture of f/0.95 for truly dramatic depth of field and next-level low light performance.

Let’s look at the main features of this beast which promises to be optically fantastic.

1.      Yes it’s a beast as it weighs at 2.28KG and is quite heavy.

2.      Built specially for the Z mount this is going to add in a list of Z mount compatible lenses.

3.      This lens has an 82mm filter thread to mount additional filters if needed.

4.      This has a ¼ inch tripod adapter so that you can mount it on a tripod.

5.      This comes with a metal hood with 82 mm diameter.

6.      Fully manual focus, so no electrical focusing like other lenses.

7.      Best suited for Astrophotography and Studio set up.
