Sigma’s High- Resolution Mirror-less Camera With Unique Sensor, to Launch Next Year
July 16, 2019

Sigma announced their fp, an all-new full-frame mirrorless camera with high resolution and niche sensor that will produce high-quality sharp images.

This camera is packed with a sensor of 60.9 megapixels. Where it uses three 20.3 megapixel sensors by Foveon together.

Foveon, which is now owned by Sigma uses a sensor technology which is very different from the standard Bayer sensor. It replaces the three-layer design with a more advanced four-layer X3 Quattro design. This design captures color and luminance information at a higher resolution at the top layers and lower resolution on the lower layers.

Well, the sad news is, the launch has been postponed by a year and you can only expect the camera to enter the market by the end of 2020.
