As the saying goes ....there's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent.

We have with us Lianne Strick whose  favorite place as long as she can remember has been in or around the water. With her photography, she found a connection for the both of them.

Nereides: Amazing Under Water Photography Series By Lianne Strik

She creates an image based on her own emotions her daily life struggles . After dark thoughts. For this most of her work is in the water.

Water is what cleans the soul and transmits us to a better understanding. What she carry’s in her and recreate her ideas underwater.

Its poetry in movement, which is constantly changing. All the photo’s have been taken in and around the Sacred Cenotes in Mexico . All without the help off scuba equipment.

About Photographer : Lianne Strik

Lianne’s favorite place as long as she can remember has been in or around the water. With her photography, she found a connection for the both of them.

Water has always been in her life…but from the start not in a good way.

When she was about 4 years old, she almost lost her live in a swimming pool…

Later on she was taught how to swim, but can tell you she was not a fan…

Many years later she decided to take her fear by the balls and learn how to dive….

And that was it…her greatest fear turned into her greatest passion..

And many if not all of her work reflects the ever on going struggle with the parts

From you that are hidden, dark and obscure and the more light and airy side of yourself.

We all fear something..we all have something to hide..and we are all wearing masks.

Its only in her art she can turn it into something positive and beautiful.

Her creations have been exhibited in Japan,Mexico,Canada and the USA

But mostly do local small venues,

She studied photography for a summer in NY at the Internacional Center of Photography

None of her work is edited or manipulated afterwards in any way.
