July 10, 2019

Irix has already set their mark in the sector of still photography and now with the announcement of 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 Cine lens they are ready to enter the market of cinematography.

Irix claims their first cine lens is capable to function with 8K resolution cameras. Their 150mm consists of 12 elements in 8 groups out of which 4 are High Reflective Index Glass and 3 are Low Dispersion Glass. These elements will enable the lens to offer super high resolution, almost zero chromatic aberration and have visible distortion as low as 0.1%

It is a fully manual lens with internal focus operational via geared rings. The de-clicked aperture ring and 11 diaphragm blades with rounded edges will create smooth bokeh in the frame. The lens is also dustproof and waterproof.

It will be available in Canon EF, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and PL mounts. The prices and availability are yet to be declared.
