One of the most trending thing which you must be seeing on the social media these days, apart from celebrities and memes are the pictures of bloggers. You must yourself be following some fashion bloggers, travel or the food bloggers. They are super trending these days. Well, fashion blogging is sort of a modeling where the fashion bloggers get their pictures clicked by professional or budding photographers. Also, the pictures which you must be seeing are mostly of the daytime and are outdoors. The sole reason for this is variation in locations and to have more picturesque images. Also, you get saved from having expensive fake lights. And we are talking about these because we are talking about some fashion photography tips today. If you are also a fashion photographer and looking for some fashion photography projects then you can implement these tips for great fashion photographs.

We hope that these fashion photography tips help you a lot in your next fashion photography assignments as these tips are for the beginners and the budding fashion photographers.

PICK THE CORRECT TIME

The first and the most important thing for this is choosing the correct time in which you want to shoot. By choosing the time means you need to choose the time in which the natural light is decent and helps you to click great pictures. It also all depends on the weather. But you should not go out for clicking the fashion photographs during the peak hour of the sun because it creates a direct shadow on the face of the person you are clicking. The best time is the sunrise time and the golden hour. During these hours, light is mild and contrast for the background is great. During a cloudy day, you can shoot in the diffused light.

DISCUSS THE BEST LOCATION

If you choose outdoors then you also have to choose the best location. You must choose the location by discussing it with your model. Finalize a good location before hand so that you save time and energy on an actual day. You can choose the locations as per your theme of the shoot or your outfits. The locations which are colourful are always the best but it all depends on the theme, for sure. If you don't have a theme, try the location which is pretty or unique.

SELECT THE BEST BACKGROUND FROM THE PLACE

Once you have selected the place and are there for shooting, you need to select the best background. A place could be exceedingly beautiful with a great background but unknowingly it may break the beauty of your pictures. You need to play with the colours in the background and see which colours suit your background in the best way. Also, make sure that the outfit of the model does not get mingled with the background unless that's not the specific theme.

BE FRIENDS WITH YOU MODEL

You need to be friends with your model. You need to help them to smile in the most amazing and natural ways. Even if you are quite unknown to each other, it is your duty to make your model comfortable and let them go with the flow of the situation. In a fashion photography, strong body language and facial expressions are the keys to the best pictures so you need to bring that out from within the model in the pictures. Keep interacting with the model and make them feel fresh.

GO BEYOND AND MIX THE LIGHTS

Here we mean to mix the ambient and the flash lights. This is something which you may not have done before but you can still try and give variations to your pictures. The benefit of this is that it gives some extra dimensions to the pictures. For example, you can use the sunlight as the key light because you are shooting outdoors and use flash to give some rim light effect on the model. You can play with the lights in various ways, basically and go on having a different shot every time. This would help you grow as a photographer and also give variations to your photography. Even if this demands you to go beyond the comfort zone of yours, do that. After all, great things never came from the comfort zones.

TRY TO CLICK IN RAW FORMAT

Now, this is a tip which is more or less a technical one. But this is also one of the important fashion photography tips. This tip asks you to shoot the pictures in the RAW format rather than the JPEG format. The pictures in the RAW format give more exposure and allow you to capture much more details rather than in the other formats. RAW format also contains maximum dynamic range which is good for the pictures.

HAVE THE BEST EXPOSURE IN YOUR CAMERA

It is very important to shoot the pictures in the best exposure because in this way you do not lose the details in the photograph during post processing. You can shoot simply and adjust the exposure later at the post processing stage but that would tend to lose the details from the photographs. If a picture is under exposed and you are managing the exposure later on during the post processing time then you may also be introducing some noise. So, shooting from the beginning in the correct exposure is very important for your pictures and also for you so that you do not have to spend in post processing. Also, for the correct exposures, you can refer to the histogram of your camera.
